Confidence in TEAM is HIGH after strong NAC MEET !!!

HELEN's face says HOW CRAZY!! it was in the NAC today. We had another fantastic demonstration of how well this TEAM is performing with some fantastic swims across the TEAM. AS we prepare for Div 2's (in 6 days), for Div 1's (in 26 days) and Nationals (in 39 Days) the swims delivered this weekend showed how well preparations were going.

There were too many great swims to mention here but with Jonah & Saoirse leading the way in the younger ages, we also had excellent PB performances by Niamh M and others in the older ages to show how strong they are improving this year so far. Niamh's impressive 100FC PB (1:02.90) LC at the end of a tough week's training and a tough days competition was just reward for her commitment for the continued development of her TECHNIQUE in training EVERY DAY.

Great skills are the KEY to consistent performance and allow you the confidence to RACE FAST and control PACE and to also let you know that even when you're tired your learned TECHNIQUE remains efficient and speed in your swims does not decrease. Poor technique makes you tired, slows you down and will always be second best when the going gets tough!!!

A Great day for the TEAM AGAIN !! oh yeh by the way LYDIA's back

Congrats again TEAM!! TECHNIQUE, TECHNIQUE, TECHNIQUE it's the ONLY way to ENSURE success - WORK on it DAILY, Every SET, Every LENGTH, Every STROKE. !!!!

Quote for the DAY

"When I go out and race, I'm not trying to beat opponents, I'm trying to beat what I have done ... to beat myself, basically. People find that hard to believe because we've had such a bias to always strive to win things. If you win something and you haven't put everything into it, you haven't actually achieved anything at all. When you've had to work hard for something and you've got the best you can out of yourself on that given day, that's where you get satisfaction from." Ian Thorpe

TIMETRIALS, MISSING WARMUPS & EXAMS

Bank Holiday Sunday!!
Some fantastic swims and a big well done to Ciara, Hannah, Martha & Saoirse on qualifying for Div 2's and a massive congrats to Jonah, Saoirse B, Luke, Niamh, Oisin & Cilian, and everyone else who took part. I know I don;t have all the naes here but well done anyways. I was well impresed by the TEAM spirit and the way all the Mums & Dads did us proud with the timekeeping.

It's great to see such a strong number of qualifiers for both Division 1 and Division 2 this season. The largest TEAM we have EVER had at these meets. Well done Coaches Helen, Brian & Peter on a job well done.

Bank Holiday Monday with Portmarnock SC !
Big Thanks to Peter O'B for facilitating our swimers in the NAC for a strong 30 x 100's set on Monday. They did 1FC, 1BC & 1BF all the way through and by all accounts Dayna, Daire, Brian & Michael G did a pretty savage set on this one. Michael - Here comes your new EVENT 200BF. Love it !!!! Thanks again Peter & Well done TEAM.

Oh By the Way I heard there were loads of Training PB's on Monday PM in Templeogue for the quality Set Helen handed the troops. Getting FASTER and STRONGER EVERY week TEAM lets keep on moving it !!

Tuesday AM
Warm Up Queen Where were YOU !!!! WE missed her for the warmup but did a killer session on Abs anyway. Nice Session on Tuesday troops !!! A solid set by one and all on the 30 x 100's and a strong 6K in total. AS Always the development of the TEAM gets better week to week. The focus on UNDERWATER pushoffs and kicking is beginning to sink in to the watery brains but generally it's getting there. YOU need to set urself the challenge of getting to 7M on EVERY push off, then 8M, then 9M and eventually you will be PHELPIAN or PHELPESQUE with quality 12M pushoffs EVERY turn. (Actually I hear Michael Phelps has relations living in Knocklyon so next time he's here for TEA I'll ask him to drop doen to the pool)

Well done TEAM, Getting Better

Thought for the DAY -
LIVE IT !! LOVE IT !! - MAKE IT HAPPEN !! - NO FEAR, NO EXCUSES !!

Make Each Day Your Masterpiece
by John Wooden
"Too often we get distracted by what is outside our control.
You can't do anything about yesterday.
The door to the past has been shut and the key thrown away.

You can do nothing about tomorrow. It has yet to come.
However, tomorrow is in large part determined by what you do today.
So make today a masterpiece. You have control over that.
By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better."

ps. GOOD LUCK In EXAMS - Make those Watery Brains WORK today!!!
