Callela - Success for the Lochtonians

4 Olympians were represented by 4 TEAMS from our travelling athletes and they fought a tight battle of wills to see who could finish as the TOP TEAM over the course of the trip.

The TEAMS were as follows

DE Manadouses - Dylan Farrell, Dayna Clegg, Conor O'Keeffe, Deirdre Murray, Cadhla Sweeney
DE Lochtonians - Ian Thom, Laura Martin, Eoin Mongey, Aoife Newe, Ciara Robinson
DE Hoffsters - Daire O'Driscoll, Finbar McTiernan, Gemma Houlihan, Niamh Murphy


CONGRATS to the Lochtonians on their WIN with an average over target result of 9% by the TEAM. Ciara Robinson delivered the best over target result on the TEAM with 11% over her weekly target. On the Phelpians, Laura Keely was the highest over target with 12% over her weekly target, Gemma Houlihan delivered 14% to be the highest on the Hoffsters and Dayna Clegg delivered a 12% over target result as highest on the Manadouses. Well done to them ALL.


The TEAM swam 14 sessions in the 8 days and each and EVERY one of the squad delivered their TARGET and we had two swimmers Ian Thom & Dayna Clegg who delivered over 80,000M for the week. Daire O'Driscoll & Dylan Farrell delivered 79,000 and Finbar McTiernan and Laura Martin delivering 78,000.


We had asked each athlete to deliver themselves on the trip as olympians would do and to focus on doing MORE, BETTER than others. well done to the entire TEAM on delivering same.


Congrats again to the Lochtonians, you're representing RYAN LOCHTE as he wants and deserves to be represented this summer, a REAL Olympian and a WINNER. Phelps was on this occasion in second place - a place he may have to get used to after Beijing. Go on Ryan !!!!
